Both power and data are delivered to the door down one CAT5e/6 cable, removing the need for a wall box and mains power supply at each door. The removal of unnecessary equipment together with a low energy profile delivers a ‘Cleaner, Leaner and Greener’ solution, reducing the cost of ownership for the customer.

One of the features is that firmware updates can be downloaded directly to the reader over the LAN enabling new generations of smartcards to be supported when they are introduced (e.g. Change from Mifare to DESFire).

The FUSION PoE Smartcard reader support for industry standard (ISO 14443A and B - Mifare and DESFire, ISO 15693) technologies where a single card can be used for a range of applications.
