Tie Rack closes all UK stores
20 November 2013
Neckwear specialist Tie Rack will be closing 44 UK stores causing the loss of up to 200 jobs.
The retailer, which has been around for 30 years, has gradually retreated since the 90s as men’s fashion has evolved.
Work environments are rapidly becoming less formal with this new era of ‘smart casual’ being the common dress code in the workplace. The trend seems to be sticking around and has hit Tie Rack the hardest causing it to close its stores with the added pressure of high street competition. More and more offices are adopting a more casual approach to work wear especially in the creative industries.
All of Tie Rack’s high street stores in the UK will close along with some along with some of its airport outlets.
All stores are expected to be closed by the end of the year.
