Sony's Mobile Division cut 1,000 jobs
24 August 2012
Sony is cutting 1,000 jobs from its mobile phone division in Europe.
The Japanese electronics and entertainment company is cutting two thirds of the roles from its Sony Mobile division in Sweden.
The firm already announced plans to cut its workforce by 10,000 by March 2013, following a record loss of $5.6 billion (£3.5bn) for the year to 31 March 2012.
In August, Sony reported losses for the April to June quarter of 24.6bn yen (£202m), compared to a loss of 15.5bn yen a year previously.
The losses have been blamed on slowing demand for TVs and a strengthening yen.
More Flexibility in the workplace with Borer's FUSION T&A System.

One way to do this is by implementing flexitime by providing staff with flexible working hours to accommodate those working part-time, family priorities, covering absences and job sharing.
