Republic enters administration with 2500 jobs at risk
13 February 2012
The highstreet and online clothing chain has confirmed that it is entering administration, putting 2,500 jobs at risk.
Republic has appointed Ernst & Young as administrators, who have since said that 150 head office staff will lose their jobs.
The fate of the remaining staff at Republic’s 121 stores has not yet been confirmed.
The administrators said that Republic had suffered poor trading results in the autumn. While sales improved in December, there was a rapid decline in sales in late January.
Ernst & Young has said it will continue to trade at Republic while it looks for a buyer for the company.
The company is the latest retail chain to enter administration, following HMV, Jessops and Blockbuster.
Borer's FUSION Flexitime System can cut overheads and reduce management time
With a high number of employees on payroll, using Borer's FUSION Time Recording System will help reduce management involvement and the administrative effort required to manage a time management scheme.
It is very labour intensive to manage and maintain a centrally administered or paper based flexitime system. Invariably, queries arise in relation to flexi balances and the process can become a very complicated one, particularly for the HR department. Implementing an automated time and attendance system makes things very easy for both employees and their managers alike.
