PwC recruits more than 1,200 graduates

PwC recruited 2,300 people this year including more than 1,200 graduates and 100 school leavers, despite economic conditions.
The global professional services firm reported an 11% increase in profits after continuing to take on staff. The firm's UK revenues rose 7% to £2.6bn with contract wins with Aviva, Dubai World and Yule Catto boosted its auditing and assurance division.
PwC operates in 158 countries with offices in 771 cities and employs 169,000 staff worldwide.
The company was formed in 1998 by a merger between Coopers & Lybrand with Price Waterhouse.
