Poundland create 2,000 temp Xmas Roles
24 September 2012
The highstreet budget retailer Poundland will create over 2,000 temporary vacancies over the Christmas and New Year period.
Staff will be recruited for its 400 UK stores and the company will also offer jobs at ten temporary Christmas stores that are due to open in the upcoming months.
CEO of Poundland Jim McCarthy says: “Christmas is a really busy time for Poundland and we’re thrilled, especially when employment figures are so low, that we can offer even more people a job over the festive period.
Poundland stated that 30% of last year’s temporary Christmas staff were offered permanent roles within the business.
