Npower to cut 1,000 jobs

27 November 2013

Npower is to outsource its call centres, cutting hundreds of jobs in the process.

The decision will affect 2,000 staff but job losses are likely to stay around the 1,000 mark as most staff will be transferred rather than face redundancy.

Unions fear that the company’s call centre in Thornaby near Middlesbrough is “almost certain” to close with outsourcing company Capita expected to take on the frontline call centre work.

Earlier this month the company announced plans to axe 6,750 jobs, around 10% of staff, across Europe after warning of lower-than-expected profits.

The Group has decreased headcount four per cent since the end of 2012.

Flexible Borer's FUSION Attendance Management System

If employees are asked to undertake different shifts or working patterns to the restructing of the company, then FUSION’s Time and Attendance System take this in their stride. Our FUSION Time and Attendance systems deal with all clocking matters, from simple collection of employees' clocking data, through to job costing and extensive labour hours analysis. Many working patterns – flexi-time, night shifts and overtime are easily created with the software.
