Microsoft to recruit 2,000 apprentices

1 February 2013

The multinational software giant will be recruiting more than 2,000 new apprentices in Scotland.

Microsoft said it would work with its Scottish partners to recruit the Modern Apprentices (MAs) by 2016.

First Minister, Alex Salmond said: "Microsoft is supporting investment in Scottish skills and in its own future in Scotland. Recruiting 2,016 apprentices by 2016 represents a huge endorsement of Scotland's young people from a company with operations in dozens of countries."

Michel Van der Bel, Managing Director, Microsoft UK, added: "The digital technologies industry employs over 100,000 people in Scotland and is expanding fast. At Microsoft we want to help ensure there are skilled people coming into the workplace to secure the future for the sector. These are real jobs for young people in a vibrant, growing and exciting industry, which will help bring economic and employment opportunities."

Borer's FUSION Time Recording System

With a high number of employees on payroll, using Borer's FUSION Time Recording System will help reduce management involvement and the administrative effort required to manage a time management scheme.

It is labour demanding to manage and maintain a centrally administered or paper based flexitime system. Invariably, queries arise in relation to flexi balances and the process can become a very complicated one, particularly for the HR department.

Implementing an automated time and attendance system makes things very easy for both employees and their managers alike.
