2 October 2012
Matalan is to create 5,000 new roles across stores for the Christmas period.
The high street retailer is looking for staff to help support customer service and improve the overall shopper experience. The hires will be created across Matalan’s 212 UK stores.
Where possible, the new recruits will be offered permanent contracts in the new year.
Matalan Retail Director, Mie Jeans, says: "We’re pleased to be announcing the creation of so many job opportunities throughout the country in our local communities during the Christmas period. Christmas and New Year is an extremely important time for Matalan which is why we are bringing in additional support to ensure we deliver on our commitment to provide the best possible service and experience for our customers."
The news comes as Amazon announced the hiring of 10,000 Christmas jobs today. In addition, Argos, Sainsbury's and Poundland are also creating 39,000 temporary jobs between them.
More Flexibility in the workplace with Borer's FUSION T&A System.
Borer's Time and Attendance system is designed to offer employees more flexibility in the workplace. With more and more emphasis being placed on work life balance, organisations must define procedures to support employees.
One way to do this is by implementing flexitime by providing staff with flexible working hours to accommodate those working part-time, family priorities, covering absences and job sharing.
