Greggs to create 800 jobs in the UK
27 March 2012
High street bakery retailer has recently announced that it will create hundreds of new jobs through the addition of new shops in the UK.
Greggs announced in its preliminary full year report that it will be opening 84 new shops and creating 800 jobs in 2012. This will take the total number of Greggs employees to above 20,000.
The news comes after the group revealed record sales of £701million and a positive growth in pre-tax profits of 1.1% to reach £53.1m. 10% of these profits will be shared with Greggs’ employees.
Derek Netherton, Chairman, Greggs, says: “Greggs performed well in 2011 in what was a very challenging time for the economy and the consumer. We have continued to make good progress towards our strategic objectives with a record number of shop openings across the UK.
“While we expect 2012 to be another year of significant challenge for UK consumers we believe that we are well placed to deliver further progress. In the current year we will continue our accelerated expansion with the opening of around 90 net new shops and further development of new channels to market.
Borer's FUSION Time Recording System
With a high number of employees on payroll, using Borer's FUSION Time Recording System will help reduce management involvement and the administrative effort required to manage a time management scheme.
It is labour demanding to manage and maintain a centrally administered or paper based flexitime system. Invariably, queries arise in relation to flexi balances and the process can become a very complicated one, particularly for the HR department.
Implementing an automated time and attendance system makes things very easy for both employees and their managers alike.
