Flexitime could save British businesses £34 billion according to survey
12 March 2013
UK companies could save around £34 billion by allowing employees to work more flexibly thereby freeing up desk space according to a new survey.
Vodafone UK and YouGov surveyed 500 decision makers but found more than a third (37%) had not considered flexible working as a way of saving money while 65% insisted their business could not lose any desks.
Businesses who did feel they could reduce the number of desks thought they could lose 46 per office on average.
However the research also showed businesses were underestimating the cost of those desks, expecting an average saving of £441 per desk, when the UK desk cost averages at £5,746.
More Flexibility in the workplace with Borer's FUSION T&A System.
Borer's Time and Attendance system is designed to offer employees more flexibility in the workplace. With more and more emphasis being placed on work life balance, organisations must define procedures to support employees.
One way to do this is by implementing flexitime by providing staff with flexible working hours to accommodate those working part-time, family priorities, covering absences and job sharing.
