Facebook's App Centre was launched in the US last month with more 600 apps available from day one including Pinterest and gaming apps like Drawing Something and Bejewelled.
Now the UK store has gone live with additional European-based services including Deezer, a French music streaming app.
The App Centre is available both on Apple and Android platform.
The social network, which has more than 900 million members, will also sell its own apps through the store. The move is being seen as a shrewd one by technology analysts because the App Centre will allow Facebook to showcase the best apps.
And it will also encourage more developers to create exclusive paid-for apps for Facebook.com. All developers who create paid-for apps solely created for Facebook, will have to share 30% of the price with the social network.
When promoting popular apps such as Spotify or Pinterest, Facebook’s App Centre will simply list where they are available – without taking a cut of the price.
Each app will have a star rating, based on Facebook’s social graph, like Apple’s App Store.
