EDF to recruit 6000 personnel in 2013

French utility group Électricité de France (EDF) is to hire around 6,000 new recruits next year.
The roles will include more than 1,700 engineers and management to supports the firm’s development. EDF’s total recruitment will be approx 18,000 new employees in France during the three years ending 2013.
Hydro, nuclear and renewable energies represent the majority of recruitment driven by the needs of nuclear power. Located throughout all French regions, the permanent contract roles will be accompanied by political skill development through vocational training.
Henri Proglio, Chief Executive Officer of EDF, says: “EDF has to deal with the departure of many of those working for it who have reached retirement age. A third of staff will have to be replaced in the next four years.”
