Cornwall Aerohub to create 2,500 jobs
10 July 2012
England’s first dedicated aerospace enterprise zone will create 2,500 permanent jobs, according to the government.
The Aerohub, based at Newquay Airport, was launched by Business Minister Mark Prisk at the Farnborough International Airshow in Hampshire.
Aerohub, located at Newquay Cornwall Airport, has one of the longest runways in the UK (2.7km), meaning it can support aircraft of any size as well as offer direct access to the North Atlantic and the growing Eastern markets, and is adjacent to the largest development site in the South West.
Enterprise zones have the opportunity to attract investment, developments and jobs through a combination of business rate discounts worth up to £275,000 over five years for each business in the zone, simplified planning procedures and superfast broadband links.
Business Minister Mark Prisk says:“Aerohub is a great example of how enterprise zones will be instrumental in stimulating local growth and job opportunities. It will help further strengthen the 1 ADS Aerospace Survey 2011 sector’s skills base while attracting further business that will directly benefit Cornwall’s economy.”
Chris Pomfret, Chairman of the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership, adds: “Aerohub at Newquay Cornwall Airport is unique. It offers an operational airport with one of the country’s longest runways, buildings, no air traffic control restrictions, easy access to the major road network and a nascent aerospace cluster in one of the most desirable places in the UK in which to live.
Borer's FUSION Time Recording System
With a high number of employees on payroll, using Borer's FUSION Time Recording System will help reduce management involvement and the administrative effort required to manage a time management scheme.
It is labour demanding to manage and maintain a centrally administered or paper based flexitime system. Invariably, queries arise in relation to flexi balances and the process can become a very complicated one, particularly for the HR department.
Implementing an automated time and attendance system makes things very easy for both employees and their managers alike.
