Bentley to create 1000 UK jobs
24 July 2013
Bentley will be investing £800 million at its headquarters in Crewe to develop and build a new sports utility vehicle (SUV), which will in turn create 1,000 job opportunities.
Building the car in Bratislava was considered but the British government lobbied to keep the project in the UK.
Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of Volkswagen, who owns Bentley, says: “The Volkswagen Group believes in the UK as a competitive location for industrial production. Together we will make this new Bentley another true Bentley – powerful, exclusive and successful.”
The new car will be Bentley’s fourth model and is due to go on sale in 2016 joining the Flying Spur, Continental GT and the Mulsanne.
