Apple fined over late working hours in France
15 March 2013
Apple has been fined €10,000 by the French government after requiring staff at seven stores to work night shifts.
French law does not allow employees to work shifts between 9pm and 6am unless they are emergency service workers, the work is socially useful or is important for the economy.
The ruling has also banned the company from requiring employees to work these shifts in the future.
Action was taken after unions filed a complaint against the tech giants.
More Flexibility in the workplace with Borer's FUSION T&A System.
Borer's Time and Attendance system is designed to offer employees more flexibility in the workplace. With more and more emphasis being placed on work life balance, organisations must define procedures to support employees.
One way to do this is by implementing flexitime by providing staff with flexible working hours to accommodate those working part-time, family priorities, covering absences and job sharing.
