Amazon facing Xmas strikes in Germany
7 October 2013
Online retailer Amazon may face pay strike action in Germany, affecting deliveries to customers during the Christmas period.
Germany had strikes by Amazon employees in June and September when several hundred members of staff at its Leipzig and Bad Hersfeld depots walked out over pay disputes. But Amazon claims that the wages it pays are above average in the logistics industry.
A spokeswoman for Amazon said that these strikes had not affected deliveries to customers. “Job descriptions for staff are typical of the logistics industry such as the storage, packaging and dispatch of goods,” she adds.
This announcement comes after it was revealed that Amazon is taking on 15,000 temps across the UK in seasonal roles - up 50% on the 10,000 brought in last year. "
Borer's FUSION Time Recording System
With a large number of employees, using Borer's FUSION Time Recording System will help reduce management involvement and the administrative time and effort required to manage a time management scheme.
It is demanding to manage and maintain a centrally administered or paper based flexitime system. Invariably, queries arise in relation to flexi balances and the process can become a very complicated one, particularly for the HR department. Using an online system helps alleviate the unnecessary paperwork.
