Amazon create 2000 jobs in the UK
7 September 2012
Amazon is planning to create 2,000 positions in the UK over the next couple of years.
The online retailer announced plans to open three new distribution centres, with positions in computing, management and HR available. Up to 3,000 temps will also be taken on during the Christmas period.
The news was announced as Amazon opened a new warehouse in Hemel Hempstead, creating 600 jobs. The two other distribution centres will open in the coming months, adding to the depots already established in Doncaster, Peterborough, Rugeley, Dunfermline, Gourock and Swansea Bay.
Amazon MD Christopher North says: "We have created thousands of jobs in the UK over the last few years and are delighted to announce that we plan to create thousands more in the next 24 months.
"Our recruitment team has been exceptionally busy recently hiring hundreds of employees at the Hemel Hempstead fulfilment centre and they will certainly be busy over the next couple of years as we continue to expand to provide customers with the best possible experience."
Borer's FUSION Time Recording System
With a large number of employees, using Borer's FUSION Time Recording System will help reduce management involvement and the administrative time and effort required to manage a time management scheme.
It is demanding to manage and maintain a centrally administered or paper based flexitime system. Invariably, queries arise in relation to flexi balances and the process can become a very complicated one, particularly for the HR department. Using an online system helps alleviate the unneccessary paperwork.
