Amazon to hire 10,000 Christmas jobs
2 October 2012
The online retailer giant will be creating 10,000 jobs over the Christmas period to cope with increased demand.
Amazon has begun the recruitment process for the temporary roles, which will be based at the firm’s eight UK warehouses across the UK.
During last year’s Christmas period, Amazon shipped more than two million products each day.
Amazon has also suggested that some temporary jobs could move into permanent roles in the long-term.
Catherine McDermott, Director of Operations at Amazon.co.uk, says: "We are a company in growth and when we have permanent positions to fill, it’s the top performing temporary employees that we look to."
Borer's FUSION Time Recording System
With a large number of employees, using Borer's FUSION Time Recording System will help reduce management involvement and the administrative time and effort required to manage a time management scheme.
It is demanding to manage and maintain a centrally administered or paper based flexitime system. Invariably, queries arise in relation to flexi balances and the process can become a very complicated one, particularly for the HR department. Using an online system helps alleviate the unnecessary paperwork.
